Employment Case Study - Dave's Story
After receiving employment support, Dave has found employment as an ICT Systems Analyst with Estuary Housing Association. Well done Dave!
Dave was out of work for 10 years due to health issues and could not see how he was going to improve his situation. He had a massive hurdle to overcome.
Over the last 2 years Dave has been volunteering for charities in the local area assisting other people with household IT issues, universal credit applications and even job applications. However, he was still unable to find employment himself despite his hard work so was naturally feeling despondent.
When Dave got in touch with the employment team at Estuary, he was booked in to see the employment coach bi-weekly to work on his CV, cover letter, job applications and they put him in touch with specific employers/recruiters.
Dave applied for the Estuary work experience programme and was picked for the ICT team because of his previous work experience. During the two-weeks work experience Dave performed extremely well, showed great determination, punctuality and was a welcome addition to the team.
Following the great feedback, Dave was offered a full-time bank contract. He started his new position on Monday 4th February 2019 and we wish him all the best with his new job.
