What Our People Say About Working for Estuary
Caroline Creasey - Estates Manager
I joined Estuary Housing Association in 2015 as a cleaning supervisor, this was my first insight into estate services and how important the function of estate services is to the residents of EHA. Working on the front line, we are the first to encounter any issues that arise and it’s our job to ensure these are dealt with swiftly to minimalise the impact it has on our residents’ day to day lives.
After a few months, I become the section supervisor responsible for the cleaning, gardening and caretaking on our Woodgrange Drive Estate. This enabled me to gain further hands on experience in multiple areas. In addition to this, I also became a qualified BICs Assessor which allowed me train all new cleaners and caretakers to industry standard. I have a real passion for delivering a first class service and creating a clean and safe environment that our residents are proud to live in.
My current role is the Estate Services Manager and I am hoping to replicate the successes we have had at our Woodgrange Drive Estate across all of our housing stock. Although this has been a very quick progression, Estuary have supplied me with all the tools and support needed to be able to make a difference in my role.
Michael Amoroso - Assistant Finance Officer
I joined Estuary in January 2015 as a Finance Apprentice. As an apprentice, I was given the opportunity to work in different areas in Finance which helped me gain a greater insight to how the Finance Department operates.
In August 2016, I became a permanent member of the Finance team, working in Rents, which was one of the areas I learnt whilst being an apprentice.
Throughout my time at Estuary I have completed my AAT Level 2, and I am currently in the middle of completing AAT Level 3. Estuary has been very supportive with my studying. Everyone in Finance have been very helpful, using there knowledge to help me understand how areas in the course relates to working in a business.
Estuary core values are Excellence, Care and Innovation, which I believe all staff have shown whilst I have been here, helping me in my development whilst creating a good working environment.
Steve Bailey - Service Manager
I joined Estuary Housing Association in October 2014 as a support assistant, but with a clear view on what I wanted to achieve; this being to become a service manager within the company.
Estuary Housing Association, from my line manager to HR Department has been so supportive towards my development in working towards my goal.
The promotion of Equality & Diversity is driven throughout every tier of the company; having a registered disability myself, has not restricted me at all, which is largely due to the caring & supportive nature of the staff, both in the main offices or in services.
Estuary Housing Association promotes excellent training opportunities for staff, from mandatory training through to NVQ Level 5 qualifications.
This year I was given the opportunity to reach my goal. I began a secondment as an acting Service manager; I then went on to become a Registered Service manager within Estuary Housing Association. The company allowed me grow & develop at my own speed; which was with drive & vision.
Estuary Housing Association is a company in which I see as a growing and driving force within the care sector of South East England.
