Estuary Housing Association and CHP have merged to create Delta Housing   | News

In March 2025,  Estuary Housing Association and CHP announced plans to explore a merger. Having consulted with customers and received approval from both Estuary and CHP’s Boards, our two organisations officially came together as Delta on 1 April 2026.   

As a Delta customer, you still have the same rights to live in your home, and the conditions of your tenancy agreement or lease haven't changed. You also have the same level of legal rights and protection that you had before the merger.  

While Estuary and CHP were strong independently, we’ve now brought together the resources and strengths of both organisations. We look forward to making an even greater impact now that we’re tackling the local housing crisis together, by building more new homes, increasing investment in our existing homes, and providing better services to our customers.   

Previously, Estuary Housing Association had 4,500 homes, with the largest number in Southend-on-Sea. CHP owned and managed more than 12,500 homes, with the largest number in and around Chelmsford. This means that Delta now owns and manages more than 17,000 homes, and is the largest housing association focused on, and headquartered in, Essex.
