Accessing Your Encrypted Email Using a Yahoo or Gmail Email Account
This guide will take you through the steps of how to open an encrypted email if you are using a Yahoo or Gmail email account.
- When you receive an encrypted email from Estuary, the email will state " has sent you a protected message" with a button underneath to read the message.
- To open the message either ‘Tap’ or ‘Click’ on ‘Read the message’.
- This will open your web browser. The view will look slightly different depending on if you are using Yahoo or Gmail.
- You can either click on ‘Sign in with ..’ which will take you to sign into your email account or you can use "Sign in with a one-time passcode."
- If you chose "Sign in with..." you will be redirected to sign into your email address.
If you chose one-time passcode, you will then be presented with a screen to enter a passcode. The one-time passcode will be sent to the same email address you received the encrypted message.
You can review and respond to this email as you would any other email. However, the content cannot be copied or forwarded.
Accessing your Encrypted email using a Microsoft email
This guide will take you through the steps of how to open an encrypted email if you are using a Microsoft email account (Outlook/Hotmail/Live)
- If you are using the ‘Outlook’ application on your mobile/tablet, PC, or signed into your emails via a web browser, you can view the email seamlessly.
- Simply ‘tap’ or ‘click’ on the email item and this will automatically ‘decrypt’ your message
- If the email is encrypted, it will display the text, “Confidential”.
- You can review and respond to this email as you would any other email. However, the content cannot be copied or forwarded.
- If you are using another email application to read your emails such as Apple Mail, Samsung Mail or Gmail, a few extra steps are required.
6. When you receive an encrypted email from Estuary, the email will look like the example.
7. To open the message either ‘Tap’ or ‘Click’ on ‘Read the message’
8. This will open your web browser. Click on the ‘Sign in’ button to proceed A sign-in page will appear. First, enter your full email address, then tap or click ‘Next’.
9. Next, enter the password that is associated to your email account, then tap or click ‘Sign in’ Your email account will now be accessible to view, locate the Estuary email and open.
10. You can review and respond to this email as you would any other email. However, the content cannot be copied, forwarded, or printed.
Accessing your Encrypted email using an alternative email address
This guide will take you through the steps of how to open encrypted emails if you are not using a Yahoo, Gmail, or Microsoft email account. Such as iCloud, BT, Sky and AOL.
- When you receive an encrypted email from Estuary, the email will look like this:

It helps us comply with data protection regulations and to ensure data we send is encrypted and arrives with the intended recipient as securely as possible. It enhances our ability to deliver emails to residents in a way that is user-friendly and relevant to each resident.
