New Affordable Homes Delivered at Sutton Road
We’re delighted to announce the successful completion of Sutton Road Phase 2 – Vernon Court and Wilkinson Court, marking another important step in delivering affordable homes across Southend-on-Sea.
After taking handover on 28 July 2025, we completed the final Shared Ownership sale just over six months later, on 30 January 2026. Despite a challenging housing market, 24 Shared Ownership homes have now been sold, giving 24 households the opportunity to get onto the property ladder for the first time.
The scheme has supported a wide range of buyers, including:
- Young people, with almost a third of homes purchased by those under 30
- First-time buyers, with 80% of purchasers under 40
- Families with young children looking for long-term stability
Shared Ownership continues to play a vital role in helping people move away from renting and invest in homes of their own.
In addition to Shared Ownership, the development includes nine homes for social rent, one of which is wheelchair accessible and has already provided greater independence and quality of life for a resident.
