Executive Team
Our Executive Team are responsible for developing the strategies, policies and structure of the organisation.
Working with Board Members, Senior Management Group (SMG) and stakeholders, the Executive Team ensures that strategies are effectively implemented to make sure we deliver the best service possible for our customers.

Chief Executive - Ian Martin MBA, FCIH, FCMI, FRSA
Ian Martin joined Estuary Housing Association in November 2012 and became Chief Executive in June 2019.
Ian is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing and holds the Institute of Housing Professional Qualification, together with a Diploma in Management Studies and a Masters in Business Administration (Executive) from University of Hertfordshire Business School. Ian started his housing career with London Borough of Enfield and spent some 17 years in a variety of roles, culminating in posts responsible for the provision and management of temporary accommodation and housing advice services.
In 2000 Ian became Director of Housing and Neighbourhood Services at Christian Action Housing, where he was responsible for the housing, supported housing and neighbourhood services functions. Ian was also responsible for establishing and managing the Association’s social enterprise, which offered young people employment opportunities in cleaning and grounds maintenance. In addition, Ian chaired the local Borough ASB and Housing Management Forum and became a member of the local Crime and Disorder Partnership. He also secured funding and delivered projects providing employment opportunities, youth engagement projects and delivering Children’s Centre services.

Chief Financial Officer - Michael Hadjimichael ACMA, CGMA, BSc (Hons)
Michael Hadjimichael joined Estuary Housing Association as Executive Director of Finance and Corporate Resources in July 2018. He has responsibilities for Finance, Procurement, Technology and People and Change. He was appointed as Chief Financial Officer on 1 March 2020.
Michael is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and also has a Degree in Economics and Accounting from Loughborough University.
Starting his career in 2000 in Insurance and Financial Services, Michael moved into senior financial positions in Social Housing with Swan Housing in 2006 and CHP in 2012.
In 2015, Michael was appointed Director of Resources at Colchester Borough Homes where he had responsibility for Finance, HR, Governance, Risk, Performance, Health and Safety and IT to add to his financial background.

Director of Governance and Corporate Assurance - Jeremy Jacobs
Jeremy joined Estuary in January 2022 as Director of Governance and Corporate Assurance.
With a doctorate in Public Policy, Jeremy briefly worked as an academic at the University of Birmingham researching youth policy and social exclusion. In addition to this, he has held numerous roles in the housing and homelessness sectors, including managing a supported housing project for young homeless people in Essex and several roles in strategy, policy and corporate governance at manager, head of service and director level.
Jeremy is passionate about effecting real change in local communities and embedding the highest standards of governance in housing.

Director of Customer Services - Helen Gregory
Helen joined Estuary Housing in April 2019.
Helen is an experienced strategic housing professional with over 25 years experience working with Councils, Housing Associations and ALMO’s.
She has held the position of Operations Director at Colne Housing as well as Head of Housing at Brentwood Council. Previous to this Helen worked as associate consultant for Campbell Tickell on various housing assignments inside & outside London. Helen has also worked as Contracts Manager at Triathlon Homes, responsible for the successful handover of the former athletics village, into affordable housing part of the Olympic Games legacy 2012.
A Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, Helen is passionate about customer service and resident empowerment.
