We are recognised as Trailblazer in Stonewall Proud Employers programme
We've been awarded Trailblazer status in Stonewall’s Proud Employers programme, the highest possible level of accreditation for LGBTQIA+ inclusive employers in the UK.
The Trailblazer award recognises organisations that demonstrate strong leadership and best practice on LGBTQIA+ inclusion in the workplace. Stonewall’s assessment looks at areas such as policies, training, data, leadership and community engagement.
At Estuary, our work in this space includes:
• an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy, supported by a dedicated EDI Lead and network of EDI Champions from across the organisation
• the use of Equality Analysis to review policies and processes for their impact on different groups, including LGBTQIA+ colleagues and customers
• targeted training on allyship, inclusive language and hate crime, through partnerships with Southend Pride, Essex Police, Inclusive Employers and Stonewall
• active engagement with LGBTQIA+ community organisations, including corporate sponsorship and participation in Southend Pride, and active involvement in the LGBTQIA+ Housing Pledge forum.
This accreditation reflects our commitment to providing an inclusive and supportive environment for colleagues and customers, and it supports our ambition to carry that culture forward into our future Delta organisation, following the planned merger with CHP.
Commenting on the award, HR Manager & EDI Lead, Gemma Kopel Doree, said:
“We are absolutely delighted to be recognised by Stonewall as a Trailblazer! This result reflects the dedication of colleagues across Estuary, particularly our EDI Champions, who work hard every day to make inclusion real and meaningful in our teams and services. We will continue to build on this foundation so that LGBTQIA+ inclusion remains central to who we are and how we work.”
